Family Navigators

Family Navigators help families find and access support in Newham.

What do we do?

  • Empower: Navigate and sign post families to services, offers and opportunities with in Newham. We also provide practical advice and guidance where possible.
  • Engage: We connect you to the right support you need, when you need it most, and tracking referrals made to services. We have a regular presence in key community settings and Family Hubs.
  • Enable: Supporting you to feel confident in accessing services by reducing any barriers. Translation - The majority of our Navigators speak a second language, we also have connections to language translation and interpreter services.

What we DO:

  • Help with school application and access to early education
  • GP and Dentist registrations
  • Education and training opportunities
  • Employment, money and finance
  • Special Educational Needs
  • Access to Domestic Abuse services and support
  • Access to food support
  • Health and wellbeing
  • Parenting and Health relationship support
  • Local and community activities

  • Support families from pre-birth to young people aged up to 18 years old, and young people aged up to 25 if there is diagnosed SEND needs.

 What we DON’T do:

  • We do not act as a legal representative
  • Family Navigators are not a Housing Services and we are not able to provide housing. However, we can signpost and assist you with any housing related issues.

  • We do not fill in paper forms that are more than five pages long or PIP forms
  • Support single adults or families with young people aged over 18, or over 25 if there is a diagnosed SEND need.

Friday Forest Gate Library (The Gate) 09:00 – 12:00
