Newham Council has been awarded funding from the Department for Education to deliver a Holiday Activities and Food (HAF) Programme for the summer and Christmas holidays in 2021, as part of a national scheme.

What is this programme about
The aim of the programme is to support the physical and mental health and wellbeing of children and young people, encouraging them to engage in interactive and fun activities and provide them with access to nutritious food during the holidays.
Who is the programme for?
The offer is open for all school aged children in Newham (aged 5-16) who are eligible for benefits-related free school meals.
How long is the programme?
The programme will run for 4 weeks during the summer holidays and one week during the Christmas holidays. Each week will consist of 4 days of programme and each day will consist of 4 hours activities.
How do I book?
You can book your children into the programme through the school your child is attending. The school will send you an invitation and a booking form. Please complete the booking form and return it to your school.
You will then be offered places at either your school, a local school, a local voluntary organisation or a local holiday club.
What is on offer?
The holiday programme will offer an exciting range of fun activities of e.g. sports, arts, crafts, learning projects, music, outdoor activities, excursions and much more….
