Newham Youth Wellbeing Survey: Information for schools

Newham Youth Wellbeing Survey: Information for schools

Newham Council wants to understand the experiences of children and young people in the borough. We would like your help to publicise this important Survey. The survey is due to close on the 27th September 2020.
Those taking part in the survey have the chance to win a £100 JD Sports voucher!

What is the study about?

The survey is for children and young people aged 10 to 24 years old who live in Newham or go to school in Newham. It asks about their wellbeing, physical activity, healthy eating, school and learning, how they have been affected by the coronavirus pandemic and what they are worried about. The council will use this information to improve how we support children and young people in these areas, especially during and after the coronavirus pandemic.

How can children and young people take part?

Children and young people aged 16 to 24 years old can take part online via the Newham Council website: https://www.newham.gov.uk/children-families/children-young-people-health-wellbeing-survey/1
Children and young people aged 10 to 15 are being invited to complete a separate survey by Youth Zone youth workers, social workers, and HeadStart workers.

Teachers can also act as a responsible adult and invite children and young people aged 10 to 15 to take part that they have personal accountability for the well-being of. If you are a teacher in a Newham School and would like to act as a responsible adult to invite children aged 10-15 to take part, please contact Thomas Wilkinson, Senior Research Officer, to get more information and verify your role and permission by phone call: Thomas.wilkinson@newham.gov.uk
