SEND Workforce Development Opportunities
Staff Training and Workforce Development
Staff training is often referred to as Continuous Professional Development (CPD) or Workforce Development.
SEND workforce development helps to build professionals’ skills, understanding and confidence so they are better able to meet the needs of children and young people (CYP) with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).
88% of school leaders in the UK believe that Initial Teacher Training does not adequately prepare teachers to help those who have special education needs and disabilities (SEND). Further training can allow teachers and support staff to build on their interaction skills and learn strategies for helping these pupils to achieve their full potential.
Our workforce development offer is for all professionals working with CYP with SEND. There is training available for staff from schools, the local authority, NHS, early years settings, community groups and the voluntary sector. The training can be attended by individuals, or delivered to larger groups of staff teams.
