SEND Transport

The 0-25 SEND Travel Assistance Service supports students travelling to and from school and college. 

If your child is at school or college and has special educational needs (SEND) or disabilities, he or she may qualify for help with travel from home to school or college.

We have an AD-HOC booking service that allows schools, other council departments and organisations within Newham to book our busses for a day out, tour day or a trip. Please download our AD-HOC Transport Booking form from the download section on your right and send back the completed form to travelassistance.bookings@newham.gov.uk

Send Surgery is a free council run service that equips and supports parents, carers and families with information relating to the following services: Social Services, Family Support, Speech, Language, Occupational or Physiotherapies, EHCP, Travel Assistance and General Info.

You can ask questions, resolve queries and be signposted to other services. This takes place once a month at the Tunmarsh Centre in Plaistow, the available dates are distributed in the Inclusion Matters Newsletter which you can find on Newham Families Advice and Support | SEND News each month. Please email SendSurgery@newham.gov.uk to regularly receive this. You can then book a ticket via Eventbrite through the links in the newsletter.

Who to contact

Departments and/or council services can book transport through us for a tour, day trip or school outing, the Travel Assistance Service can help. We offer a flexible and reliable service and can provide a vehicle and a driver. The team will assist and support all your transport needs. For bookings please complete our AD-HOC Transport Bookings Form and submit your completed form to the email address below.
