World Autism Awareness Day 2021
World Autism Awareness Day 2021
To raise awareness of people with autism and mark World Autism Awareness Day 2021, Newham Council is hosting a virtual event.
Join us on Thursday 22 April 2021 from 2-5pm, as we celebrate this year’s theme of ‘My Autism, Living Well in Newham’.
The event will include the launch of Newham’s Autism Survey, which will be used to refresh our Autism Strategy. This is a plan for how we can make Newham a better place with the right services and support for autistic residents and their carers. We want autistic residents and their networks to tell us what is important to them, so that it is in the Strategy. This event will tell you more about the survey and how to take part.
The event will also include:
- Panels, dance and mindfulness sessions
- A discussion with film director Moritz Valero talking about Autism & representation in film and television
- Cake & break - Since we cannot meet face to face, take a break during the sessions and meet others online. People are welcome to have cake or other snacks to show others and start a conversation.
Please feel free to share this event with people who may be interested
