Specialist practitioner with extensive experience working with children with SEMH across East London schools and settings. |
What we do:
- Support staff in mainstream schools/settings to meet the needs of children with social, emotional, mental health difficulties and challenging behaviour.
- We observe pupils, consult with staff and meet with parent/carers to develop an understanding of the child’s behaviour and needs.
- We put together, with you, a package of interventions to be implemented by school/setting-based staff, supported by a BSS member of staff.
- Interventions may include: in-class modelling of target behaviours; developing systems of individual rewards and sanctions; 1:1 and/or small group sessions focusing on play skills, social skills, anger management or building confidence.
- We can support you with baseline assessments, planning, meetings, producing reports and measuring progress.
- Develop and deliver bespoke training based on the needs of your staff.
The benefits of our input:
- Increase in schools’ knowledge, expertise and capacity to meet SEMH needs
- Professional development and enhanced staff skills
- Improvement in behaviour for individual pupils and their families
- Improvement in academic progress
- Improvement in inclusive practice
- Reduction in number of suspensions
Packages:
- We work in 3 hour sessions, which we will book in advance with you
- The content of these sessions will be planned and agreed beforehand.
- Parental consent is required for direct work with children
