Return Home Interview Service RHI

The Youth Empowerment Service have been commissioned to provide an Independent Return Home Interview (RHI) Service to Newham. 

An independent RHI should be offered to every young person on their return from every missing episode.

An RHI is an in-depth conversation with a young person who has returned from a missing episode.

Our RHI’s are completed by youth workers who are highly skilled, trained, qualified and most importantly independent from statutory services. 

An RHI should not only look to establish the reasons why a young person has gone missing but also how we can work actively with the child and professional partners to drive down identified risks via the follow-on work offer.

The RHI service work closely with partner agencies to support young people to stay safe, reduce the risk of further missing and to get the best outcomes.
